Spring Break Locations
We, as a family, have traveled to many places on spring break. Of course we have done the Disney and Universal theme parks, but we have more fun going to places we have never been or seen before. We love to explore so we try to make an effort to see different parts of the country.
Are you ever looking for something different to do instead of the overcrowded tourist spots? Well I decided to write down some of the places that we enjoyed the most and a link to at least one thing to do that was fun and family friendly.
Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island, FL. This is an island just off the coast of Florida near Jacksonville. The beaches (and most of the restaurants) are dog friendly. So when you are speaking of the family and it includes the dogs, this is a great place to vacation. One of the places on the island that is very interesting to see and explore is Fort Clinch. Here is a link to the Fort Clinch State Park: https://www.floridastateparks.org/park/Fort-Clinch
Boone and Blowing Rock, NC. We rented a cabin in the mountains, and what an adventure (also with the dogs). There is so much to do in the Appalachian Mountains: skiing, river rafting, tubing (water or snow), zip lines, parks and scenery to see…the list goes on. Gulf Coast and Orange Beach, AL. One of the few places we have gone to twice is the Gulf Coast shores of Alabama. We rented a house with another family one time and a condo by ourselves the second time. If you want warm weather (most of the time) and great beaches then this is a nice option. Some of the activities you can do are: deep sea fishing, water sports, boating and horseback riding to name a few. Here is a link to get you started: https://www.gulfshores.com/
Tybee Island and Savannah, GA. If you would like to stay on the beach but want a Historical City to sightsee and visit, this is the perfect location. We were able to have fun on the beach but exploring Savannah and all the things that this city has to offer was much more exciting. There is so much history and plenty of things to see for all ages. We toured one part of the city on Segways and another part of the city sitting on a horse drawn carriage. Of course packing for these trips comes easily when we all have our own luggage. Our kid’s luggage is perfect for children and what makes it special is the embroidery with their names on the luggage. It’s a great gift and the kids love that fact that the bags are their own. Currently the kids large rolling carry-on is 20% off the regular price until 2/28/2017, so this is a great time to purchase your kid’s and grandkid’s luggage for spring break and other vacations.
